    Michael Jordan

the greatest basketball player ever. In his Hall of Fame induction speech,

When the world came out to celebrate with him, Michael Jordan, was calling out his school coach who chose another player over him and this fueled his motivation to prove them wrong.

What’s remarkable is that Jordan was talking about being underestimated after being universally recognized as not only the greatest basketball player ever, but as one of the greatest athletes of all time.

Jordan was still constructing that perception of being underestimated and using that as motivation to prove others wrong.

Organisational psychologists say that some of the greatest leaders of all times have been fueled with the rage of being understimated, this led them to perfom better.

In several instances, creating some form of underestimation to motivate people was done deliberately and it did work.

Several conditions lie underneath, for this to work effectively

Your final closing remarks were the most important here I feel @Joel 🙂

Yes, this works in many places but as you say, many other conditions need to be fulfilled. Nice story, thanks for sharing it!
