Nassim Nicholas Taleb, explains the concept anti-fragility as follows: “Some things benefit from shocks; they thrive and grow when exposed to volatility, randomness, disorder, and stressors and love adventure, risk, and uncertainty.

Personality has become a more important element in selection in the last year.

Learning agility for example is a personality trait organisations like people to have.

During the COVID-19 crisis we heard a lot about resilience: how can organisations and the people in organisations bounce back?

    Anti-fragility is a stronger concept:

How can you bounce back on a higher level? The concept needs more scientific basis and reliable tests will have to be developed, but clearly “anti-fragile” personalities will be in high demand.

Looking for “anti-fragile” personalities is one possible intervention. Of course a lot more can be done to make organisations and the people in organisations more anti-fragile.

There are indications that people who have been exposed to adverse conditions become more resilient.
