Found this course very insightful. I have a question, it says combine three methods of job analysis for best results, but in case if the job analysis is been conducted for a new role(new job created), then the maximum two methods we can combine is Questionnaire and interview from the data source being the manager or the supervisor along with the subject matter experts seeking everything we need to know about the new role being created in the organization. Please clarify if my understanding is right. Thank you.
Hi Asha, Why do you say only 2 methods are possible? I believe, even observation can happen and then the incumbent can record his/her activities in the form of logs/diaries? They know what activities they are performing and can surely record those. I hope that clarifies. 👍🙂
Thank you for your response. I mentioned 2 methods in the scenario where a new job role is created and no incumbent hired yet. My understanding is observation and log diaries are only possible if there is an incumbent holding that post/employee performing the role. But in case where a new role is created and we need to hire people based on the JD & JS , then the method for job analysis can not include observation and log diaries. Please correct me if my understanding is wrong.
